Setting a quick Time Out for a person or device

Plume gives you the ability to briefly freeze or pause internet access for a single person or specific device instantly through the Time Out feature.

You can also set a global Time Out for multiple devices with a custom time frame.  Consider our Schedule Internet Freeze feature if you want to set a scheduled Internet break.  

Setting a Time Out for a single device or person

1. Navigate to the device or person you would like to pause Internet access for. Notice the Pause button on the top of the person or device's card.
2. Tapping the button will open a dialogue box with 3 options for a Time Out or Freeze:
   • Set Time out - This lets you customize the duration of the Time Out.   
   • Freeze Until midnight - This option lasts until midnight of the current day 
   • Freeze indefinitely - This will freeze Internet access until it is manually canceled.
3. If you chose Set Time out option, set the duration of the Time Out and tap on Done to save. 
4. The person or devices will show they are currently in a Time Out along with a countdown of when the Time Out expires.                                                                                   
5. If you wish to cancel the Time Out or Freeze, tap on the X                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Plume also gives you the ability to freeze or pause internet access for a device on a schedule through the scheduled freeze options.

Setting a 15 or 30 minute Time Out

1. Navigate to the device or person you would like to time out. Notice the Time Out (pause button) on the top of each screen.                                                                                                                            
2. Tapping the button once will enable a 15 minute time out. If enabled on a person, any device associated with that person is subject to the setting.                                                                             
3. Tapping the button a second time will extend the Time Out to 30 minutes. The expiry of the Time Out will be displayed under each device.                                                                                                
4. A third tap will end the Time Out.
