What do I need for setup?
You need to have an active high-speed internet connection, the HomePass app, membership and pods to begin setup.
What is the basic setup flow?
The HomePass app will guide you through the easy setup process, starting with creating your Plume account. Connect a pod (preferably SuperPod) to your modem or router by Ethernet cable. Add the rest of the pods to complete the setup. Please note that you need to leave the gateway pod connected to the modem via Ethernet to maintain your Plume network.
How do I integrate Plume into my existing network?
Select the configuration that closely matches your current setup from the options below for the step by step instructions to set up Plume.
How do I replace my router with Plume?
Single modem-router combo box.
I have a router connected to my modem. How do I add Plume?
Airport Time Capsule or Extreme connected to my router or Modem-Router combo box.
VoIP (Voice over IP) Phone connected to my modem and router.
I have a router connected to an ONT (Fibre to the home)
Should I keep my separate router?
If you have a separate router connected to your modem or ONT, you can usually replace your existing router with Plume to simplify your network. If your Fibre or DSL connection requires a router to handle PPPoE, VLAN, or have a fixed IP you can:
- Keep your existing router with the settings and then add Plume
- Remove your router and configure the PPPoE, VLAN, or Fixed IP WAN settings on your Gateway SuperPod.
Other reasons to keep your existing router include:
- Retaining the port-forwarding and other settings already on your router.
- Retaining the additional features provided by your router, such as additional Ethernet ports, USB or built-in storage.
